Rashford, capped 31 times by his country, with six goals, had an individual session indoors at St George’s Park as he bids to prove his fitness.

The 21-year-old has become an integral part of Gareth Southgate’s line-up, scoring three times in his last six international appearances.

England’s official Twitter account posted: “21 players are taking part in today’s session, with @MarcusRashford working separately to the main group.”

He is the latest injury headache for Southgate, who has already had five players withdraw from the squad for the Group A double header against the Czechs and Montenegro.

Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona: Jose Mourinho credits Jurgen Klopp for stunning Champions League comeback at Anfield – ‘This is about him’

Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to Jurgen Klopp for masterminding Liverpool’s stunning Champions League comeback against Barcelona, saying: ‘This is about him’.

The Reds pulled off one of the most miraculous comebacks in European history on Tuesday night as they beat the Spanish giants 4-3 on aggregate to seal their place in the final for the second year on the trot.

Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

It has been hailed as the best night in Liverpool’s European history, as they battled from 3-0 down from the first leg to beat Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield – without their two top goalscorers.

There were two unlikely heroes in Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum, who scored two goals apiece, but this was a real team performance, spurred on by the tireless energy of captain Jordan Henderson.

But Mourinho believes Klopp was the real driving force behind the spectacular performance.

And the former Manchester United boss said he hopes the German can finally end his wait for the Champions League trophy this season, after losing two finals.

â€Å“I didn’t expect it, I said impossible is nothing, I said if it’s possible, Anfield is one of the places to make the impossible be possible,” Mourinho said as a pundit for beIN Sports.

â€Å“But I have to say that for me, this has one name – Jurgen.

Jurgen Klopp celebrates following Liverpool’s incredible win over Barca

â€Å“I think this is not about tactics, this is not about philosophy, this is about heart and soul, and a fantastic empathy he created with this group of players.

â€Å“They had the risk of finishing a fantastic season without anything to celebrate, and now they are one step from being European champions.

â€Å“I think Jurgen deserves, you know, the work they are doing in Liverpool is fantastic.

â€Å“But I think this is about him, this is a reflection of his personality, don’t give up, a fighting spirit, every playing giving everything.

â€Å“He’s not crying because he’s missing a player, he’s not crying because they are playing 50 or 60 matches per season.

â€Å“Other coaches in other leagues they are crying, saying their players are playing too many matches when they play 30 or 35 matches.

â€Å“Everything I think today is about Jurgen’s mentality.

â€Å“I just hope that Jurgen wins the Champions League finally.

â€Å“Because he lost already two Champions League finals and also a Europa League final.

â€Å“I think he deserves to make it happen. Because the work is fantastic.”

Football: Bayern have not yet tabled bid for Man City's Leroy Sane, says CEO Rummenigge

BERLIN (REUTERS) - German football champions Bayern Munich have not yet made an offer for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane despite their longstanding desire to sign him, club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Wednesday (June 5).
Bayern, who won their seventh straight German Bundesliga league title along with the German Cup this season, have repeatedly said that they would like to draw the speedy 23-year-old winger to Munich.
But Rummenigge said reports of an €80 million (S$123 million) offer for the German were wide of the mark.
"We have not yet submitted an offer for Leroy Sane," he told Sportbild magazine. "We are still a long way from this point.
"Initially the player has to decide if he could imagine joining Bayern. Once that is the case then we will go into specific negotiations with Manchester City."
After being voted the PFA's Young Player of the Year for 2017-18, Sane struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at City last season, competing with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva among others.
City coach Pep Guardiola, a former Bayern manager, has said he had tried to extend the player's contract over the past year and a half but Sane's reluctance to put pen to paper has raised doubts about his future in Manchester.

"The player is the most decisive factor," Rummenigge said.
"Obviously Leroy has not yet decided. I find him an exciting player both in relation to his football qualities and his character."
Bayern have already signed defender Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid for €80 million as they look to become more competitive in Europe, with their last Champions League win back in 2013. They lost to eventual champions Liverpool in the round of 16 this season.

Manchester United and Leicester in race to sign Chelsea sensation Reece James – reports

Leicester are set to battle it out with Manchester United and Everton for Chelsea starlet Reece James, according to reports.

James, 19, had an outstanding season on loan at Wigan as they successfully fought off relegation from the Championship.

It proved to be an award-winning campaign for the England Under-20 international, who established himself as a real fan favourite at the DW Stadium.

That has led to no shortage of interest in the right-back’s services, with the Foxes now one of the clubs vying to bring him on loan for the 2019/20 season – according to the Sun.

Brendan Rodgers believes the teenager, who captained Chelsea’s FA Cup Youth winning team, has a huge future and wants him to become a mainstay in the Leicester back line for years to come.

Rodgers is said to be willing to test Chelsea’s willingness to hold onto James with Maurizio Sarri’s future in west London still uncertain.

The youngster signed a new deal with the club just last year which sees him contracted with the Blues until 2020 – but the report states Stamford Bridge may be tempted with a bid in the region of £15m.

However, Rodgers will have to fend off interest from Man United for his signature as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also a huge admirer of the defender.

The Red Devils believe they hold the edge in securing a deal as James’ younger sister Lauren plays for United’s women’s team.

Everton boss Marco Silva is also keen on the full-back, while Crystal Palace and Burnley are also reportedly keeping tabs on the Chelsea starlet.

Everton transfer news: Jonas Lossl arrives from Huddersfield on three-year deal as back-up for Jordan Pickford

Everton have made their first signing of the summer by bringing in Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl on a three-year deal.

The 30-year-old Denmark international’s deal at the John Smith’s Stadium expires next month and he has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Toffees.

He will officially join the Goodison Park outfit on July 1.

Lossl, who made 69 Premier League appearances for the Terriers during their two seasons in the top flight, keeping 14 clean sheets, has been brought in as back-up to England number one Jordan Pickford.

He made 149 saves in 31 Premier League appearances in his final season for Huddersfield but kept just five clean sheets, as they were relegated back to the Championship.

Everton made the announcement of Lossl’s arrival on their official Twitter page, and the goalkeeper himself later took to social media to react to the move.

“Feeling very proud,” he wrote. “Thank you to everybody involved in making this possible. Can’t wait to become a part of this great club.”

Lossl’s arrival casts doubt on the future of Maarten Stekelenburg, 37 in September, who has made just five appearances in the Europa League and League Cup over the past two seasons.

The Dutchman has just one year remaining on his contract and looks set to be moved on with Portugal youth international Joao Virginia promoted from the Under-23s, with whom he won the Premier League 2 title this season.

PORTO ̢ۢ Spain's World Cup-winning captain Iker Casillas has told his fans that he is "feeling strong" after suffering a heart attack while training with Portuguese champions Porto on Wednesday.
Hospital medical reports revealed there was an obstruction of the right coronary artery for the 37-year-old, who has won all the major honours in the game, including the 2010 World Cup and three Champions League trophies.
The goalkeeper, who has already been ruled out of playing for the remainder of Porto's season, tweeted on Wednesday: "Everything under control here, it was a big scare. Thanks a lot for all your messages and your support."
Get-well wishes poured in from the footballing community after the news broke, with Real Madrid offering "all our support" for their former captain, their second-most capped player behind striker Raul Gonzalez (741).
The Spanish national team, of which Casillas has the all-time record of 167 caps, tweeted: "All the family at the national team and the Spanish football federation are with you. Get well soon."
Cristiano Ronaldo, his former Real teammate, also posted on his Instagram page an image of the pair together with the message: "Have strength, my friend. I hope you get well soon."
One of Spain's best-known sporting personalities, "Saint Iker" came through Real's academy and spent the bulk of his career there, making 725 appearances between 1999 and 2015 before joining Porto.
Spanish sports website Don Balon claims that the heart attack was probably the result of genetic issues because it is uncommon for people under 40 to suffer from the problem.
It also said that Casillas would have to consider hanging up his boots given the chances of the issue occurring again if he continues playing top-level football.

Watford 0-1 Arsenal: Gunners scrape through against 10 men Hornets as Troy Deeney sees red 11 minutes into match

Arsenal did just enough to beat a 10 men Watford side to climb back into the top four of the Premier League.

A disastrous two minutes at the start of the first half saw the Hornets go down 1-0 and their captain Troy Deeney sent off.

The home side battled against the Gunners for the rest of the match and may have felt they could have got something out of the game.

Arsenal made six changes for their Premier League clash at Watford as Konstantinos Mavropanos made his first start since May.

The Gunners face Napoli in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final and travel to Italy defending a 2-0 lead.

Unai Emery is likely to have one eye on that fixture with Mavropanos starting as well as fellow recalled players Shkodran Mustafi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi and Bernd Leno, while Granit Xhaka recovered from a groin problem to be included.

Watford meanwhile made four alterations from their victorious FA Cup semi-final win over Wolves as Ben Foster, Christian Kabasele, Daryl Janmaat and Adam Masina came in.

Arsenal took the lead in the 10th minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The striker capitalised on hesitation from Ben Foster to close down the goalkeeper and block his clearance, with the ball rebounding into the hosts’ net.

Andre Gray’s shot is blocked by Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Things got even worse for the Hornets just a minute later as captain Troy Deeney was shown a straight red card for throwing an arm towards Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira. Despite playing with 10 men, Watford troubled Arsenal throughout the remainder of the first half.

Bernd Leno was forced into saves from Craig Cathcart and an Etienne Capoue free-kick, but the Gunners held their 1-0 lead at the break.

Arsenal made a confident start to the second half after the introduction of Mesut Ozil and created a number of chances.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan had several opportunities to double their lead but failed to trouble Ben Foster.

Watford, fresh from securing a place in just their second FA Cup final, were still in the game and Adam Masina was unfortunate to see a long-range strike crack against Leno’s crossbar just after the hour.

Emery switched formation to a back-three before soon reverting back to the system which had started the game, bringing on Matteo Guendouzi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in an attempt to wrestle control of the contest.

Maitland-Niles was soon on hand to keep Arsenal in front, bravely sliding in to block Gray as Watford headed into the final 10 minutes with their visitors again on the ropes.

Will Hughes headed over as the volume inside Vicarage Road rose, Aubameyang flashing a shot wide from what proved to be a rare opening for Arsenal.

Emery’s side, despite struggling against a team which played for 79 minutes with 10 men, were left exhausted at the full-time whistle as the players embraced on the pitch having survived a stern test of their mentality.
