Celtic 2-1 Rangers: Bhoys claim Old Firm bragging rights after fiery encounter at Celtic Park as Alfredo Morelos sees red

James Forrest scored with just five minutes remaining to seal a 2-1 win for Celtic over bitter rivals Rangers.

It was an Old Firm derby filled with even more drama than usual as Steven Gerrard̢۪s men finished the game at Celtic Park with ten men.

Odsonne Edouard scored a superb solo goal to give the hosts the lead before Alfredo Morelos was dismissed for the fifth time this season after an altercation with Bhoys captain Scott Brown.

Despite being a man down, the visitors responded well in the second half and equalised when Ryan Kent skipped past Dedryck Boyata to fire home.

But it was Neil Lennon who was celebrating on the touchline at the end when Edouard turned provider for the onrushing Forrest, who fired past Allan McGregor with just five minutes of normal time remaining.

There may well have been more drama when Kent appeared to raise his hands to Brown when trying to retrieve the ball for the restart, but referee Bobby Madden failed to spot it.

Celtic held on to win and go 13 points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership but the action continued after the final whistle.

A number of players and other members of each bench were involved in a melee, with Andy Halliday and Brown initially involved and Rangers substitute Wes Foderingham being dragged away from the flashpoint.
