Lionel Messi is expected to be fit for Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Manchester United next month.
The 31-year-old suffered a groin injury while playing the full 90 minutes of Argentina’s 3-1 home defeat to Venezuela on Friday.
Despite being ruled out of his country’s friendly against Morocco on Tuesday, Spanish outlet Marca report Messi is likely to return to LaLiga action when Barcelona host Espanyol this weekend.
This means he will be back in time for Barca’s visit to Old Trafford on April 10, in a huge blow to Man United.
Following the recent injury, a Barcelona statement read: “Lionel Messi did not have the return to international action that he would have wanted, and an injury picked up on Friday night means he will miss Argentina’s game against Morocco on Tuesday.â€
