Diego Maradona believes he is the man to bring the good times back to Manchester United.
He has his sights set on bigger things than Mexican second division side Dorados where he has been in charge since September.
United are not currently in the market for a manager, having given the job to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier in the season, but if they do decide they need to freshen things up at Old Trafford, then “I’m the man to do it,” Argentina’s 1986 World Cup winner told Four Four Two magazine.
“I know they sell lots of shirts around the world, but they need to win trophies, too. I can do that for them.”
Maradona went onto explain that United were his English team at one point, but switched allegiances to rivals Man City as a result of compatriot Sergio Aguero.
Considered one of the greatest players ever, the 58-year-old offered his thoughts on the current United team.
