Adam Lallana is reportedly keen on a Southampton return.
The Liverpool midfielder left the Saints for Anfield in a £25million deal in 2014.
And after featuring regularly under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp at the beginning of the German’s reign, niggling injuries have restricted Lallana’s playing time over the past two years.
He has started just five Premier League games this season and is behind Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho in the midfield pecking order.
Lallana came through the ranks at Southampton and captained the club in the top-flight.
His form at St Mary’s also resulted in an England debut in 2013.
The Express claim Lallana has told friends he would welcome a move back to Southampton, who finished 16th in the 2018/19 Premier League season.
Klopp has consistently spoken highly of the 31-year-old throughout the campaign.
